With each passing day, the crisis is paramounting due to the nationwide lockdown, several daily wage earners have become jobless and a substantial number of families depend on day-to-day work. There are many examples of such people like workers at construction sites, shops, restaurants, delivery staff, street hawkers and local transport systems have seen their income dropping to a halt in just a few of lockdown. Moreover, Karnataka being a developed state has a huge circulation of migrant labourers who are now stuck without any food and shelter, loitering on the streets.
UB7 Foundation, a subsidiary of Gurukkal foundation has come forward to help these workers in their difficult times. UB7 Foundation has distributed six lakhs masks, food to the Covid warriors (incl. volunteers, nurses, & Police) and in special schools in Dubai, Kerala and Karnataka especially in Bangalore as it has the most migrants across the state. The foundation has not just limited themselves to social work but also has taken a step forward and conducted sports events to encourage youth during the pandemic.
